France Schengen Visa · UK
Applying for a France Schengen visa from the UK used to mean refreshing a booking calendar. Since August 2026, TLScontact allocates appointments by queue, and you can have as little as 12 hours to pay and confirm your slot. GoSchengen helps non-EU passport holders living in the UK, including skilled workers, students, spouse visa holders, refugees and Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) residents, get the France-Visas form, the TLScontact registration and the document file right, so you are ready the moment your appointment arrives.
GoSchengen is an independent service. We are not affiliated with TLScontact or the French consulate, and we cannot choose your appointment date, skip the queue or guarantee a visa.
Official appointment centres
A France Schengen visa needs an in-person biometric appointment at TLScontact, the only external provider France uses in the UK. UK residents can use any of the three centres, because France has no consular area inside the UK. What changed in 2026 is how you get the appointment: there is no calendar to refresh any more.
If you want to apply for a France visa from London, your biometrics appointment takes place at the TLScontact Wandsworth centre. Manchester and Edinburgh work the same way, so you can apply from whichever centre is easiest for you.
London (Wandsworth) and Manchester allocate short-stay appointments automatically since 1 August 2026, and Edinburgh since 11 September 2026.
If nothing is allocated within 60 days, TLScontact deletes your registration and you start again.
Nobody outside TLScontact can choose or buy your appointment date, and we do not track cancellations or sell slots. Be careful with anyone who says they can.
What our France Schengen visa UK service controls is the part you control: a flawless application, a matching TLScontact account and a complete file, ready before the email arrives. See our fast-track appointment support for how we help you be ready.
Securing an appointment is only half the battle. Your France visa online application must be flawless. We complete and check your France-Visas application with you, making sure personal details, travel history and passport data match consular guidelines before your biometric date.

Visa requirements
If you hold a non-EU passport, such as an Indian, Pakistani, Turkish, Nigerian or other Asian or Middle Eastern passport, and you live in the UK, you must obtain a Schengen visa for France before you travel. Your UK residence permit does not replace it. This page covers the France visa UK process for residents: the France visa online application, your TLScontact France visa appointment and the documents consulates expect. The wider process is explained in how to get a Schengen visa in the UK.
Essential document checklist
Your digital UK residency must be verified online. We help you generate and check your UKVI share code to prove your legal status to the French consulate.
Issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen Area, with at least two blank pages. Requires 3 to 6 months of recent bank statements showing sufficient funds.
A professionally drafted cover letter detailing your trip purpose, day-by-day itinerary and return ties to the UK, supported by flight and hotel reservations that cover the same dates.
A policy that meets Schengen criteria, covering emergency medical care and repatriation for your whole stay.
A hotel or rental booking for the whole stay, or an attestation d’accueil from your host in France if you are staying with a private host.
The completed, signed form from France-Visas, with details that match your passport, cover letter and supporting documents exactly.
The France visa for UK residents is the same process for every visa-required nationality: you apply through France-Visas and TLScontact, give biometrics in person, and the French consulate decides. What differs is how closely the file is read. Consulates look hardest at three things: whether your funds match the daily amount for your trip, whether your ties to the UK are clear (job, course, family, tenancy), and whether your UK permission runs comfortably past your return.
How much money does France want to see?
| Your accommodation | Daily amount per person | Example: 10 days |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel or rental booked for the whole stay | €65 | €650 |
| No accommodation booked | €120 | €1,200 |
| Private host with an attestation d’accueil | €32.50 | €325 |
France visa fees and timing from the UK
| Item | Amount or timing |
|---|---|
| Visa fee, age 12 and over | €90 (roughly £76 to £80, charged in pounds) |
| Visa fee, children 6 to 11 | €45. Free under 6 |
| TLScontact service fee | About €40 to €55 per appointment, paid by debit or credit card in pounds |
| Standard processing | Up to 15 calendar days after your biometrics. Up to 30, or 45 in complex cases |

Why GoSchengen
Most refusals trace back to funds that do not match the trip, thin ties to the UK, missing insurance or papers that contradict each other. Our audit checks each one before you submit.
If you have been refused before, see our refusal support and re-application service.
We help with the move from physical BRP cards to digital UK eVisas, so your online status is presented clearly to the French consulate.

Frequently asked questions
No. British citizens holding a full UK passport do not need a visa for short visits of up to 90 days in any 180 days within the Schengen Area. Our France Schengen visa UK services are for UK residents who hold non-EU passports that need a visa.
For a TLS France visa UK application, TLScontact runs the official France visa application centres in London (Wandsworth), Manchester and Edinburgh. France-Visas states there is no consular area in the UK, so UK residents can use any of the three.
You no longer choose a date from a calendar. Complete your France-Visas form, register on the TLScontact website and your validated application joins a queue. TLScontact emails you when an appointment is allocated, and you have a short window, as little as 12 hours, to pay the service fee and confirm it. London and Manchester use this system since 1 August 2026, and Edinburgh since 11 September 2026.
No. For a France Schengen visa appointment UK applicants cannot pick a date, because TLScontact allocates the appointment itself and nobody outside TLScontact can pick or buy it. We prepare your France-Visas form and TLScontact registration, build and check your file while you wait in the queue, and walk you through paying and confirming the moment your slot arrives.
France uses a daily amount per person: 65 euros with a hotel or rental booked for the whole stay, 120 euros with no accommodation booked, and 32.50 euros if a private host in France provides an attestation d'accueil. For a 10-day hotel stay that is 650 euros per person, shown through 3 to 6 months of UK bank statements.
Two payments make up the cost. The consular visa fee is 90 euros for adults and 45 euros for children aged 6 to 11, paid in pounds at the centre. The TLScontact service fee, which is what TLS costs you, is about 40 to 55 euros per appointment. Both are non-refundable, and optional extras cost more.
A TLS French visa takes up to 15 calendar days from the day you submit your biometrics at TLScontact. Busy periods can stretch that to 30 days, and complex cases to 45. The wait in the TLScontact queue is separate, so plan to apply six to eight weeks before you travel.
Consulates want to see UK permission that runs comfortably beyond your return, and a short validity makes a file harder to approve. Where you can, extend your UK status first. If that is not possible, a strong travel history, stable finances and a clear explanation of your renewal can help, but we cannot promise the outcome.
Yes. They are two separate companies that run visa application centres for different countries. For France in the UK you use TLScontact, which describes itself as the only official external provider. A France application does not go through VFS Global.
People searching for a France visa fast track UK service should know that there is no fast lane for standard tourist visas, and nobody can sell you an express France Schengen visa appointment, because TLScontact allocates appointments from its own queue. The quickest route is to have a complete file ready before your slot arrives. If your trip is urgent, TLScontact has its own process for urgent cases, and we can help you prepare for it.
If your application is refused, we analyse the official refusal letter, correct the underlying document gaps and help you decide between an appeal and a fresh, carefully checked re-application.
There is no public list of dates to check any more. In London and Manchester, and now Edinburgh, TLScontact allocates the appointment after you register and tells you the date by email. Be careful with sites that claim to show or sell France visa appointment available dates.
Your TLScontact login is the account you create on the TLScontact France website for the UK. You register with the details from your France-Visas application, choose London, Manchester or Edinburgh, and then use the same TLScontact login to follow your queue status, pay the service fee when a slot is allocated and track your application. Only use the official TLScontact website, because lookalike pages exist.
Yes, if you live in the UK legally and your passport needs a visa. Your UK eVisa and a current share code prove your legal status, and you apply through France-Visas and TLScontact. A BRP is not required if you no longer hold one, but keep your eVisa status page and share code with you for the appointment.
